This notice explains how your personal information will be collected and handled through the Global Nature Positive Summit Engagement Hub page.

Australia will host the first Global Nature Positive Summit from 8-10 October 2024. The Commonwealth Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (Commonwealth DCCEEW) and the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (NSW DCCEEW) are co-hosting this event.   

The Global Nature Positive Summit Branch within the Commonwealth DCCEEW will be collecting and using the personal information that you provide through the Engagement Hub page for the purpose of delivering the Global Nature Positive Summit.

Staff from the NSW DCCEEW are part of the Global Nature Positive Summit delivery team. This team will be collecting and using personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).   

What personal information will be collected?

The Global Nature Positive Summit will collect the following personal information about you:

• Your name;
• Your email address;
• Your phone number;
• The organisation/s you are representing (if applicable); and
• Your interest/opinions regarding particular sectors and/or summit content. 

How will your personal information be used and disclosed?

The Global Nature Positive Summit Branch within the Commonwealth DCCEEW will be collecting and using the personal information that you provide through the Engagement Hub page to:

• Build and update the Global Nature Positive Summit mailing list;
• Contact you with updates and information about the Global Nature Positive Summit; and
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement to inform and deliver the Global Nature Positive Summit.  

Your personal information will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the DCCEEW Privacy Policy.

Your personal information may be disclosed to other Commonwealth Government staff that are involved with supporting the delivery of the Global Nature Positive Summit.

You can choose not to provide the requested information.

You can choose to participate anonymously or use a pseudonym. You can also choose not to provide your personal information; however this may mean that it will not be possible for us to engage further with you regarding the Global Nature Positive Summit.  

This privacy statement explains how your personal information may be handled by the Commonwealth DCCEEW in relation to the Global Nature Positive Summit Engagement Hub page.  You can also contact the Global Nature Positive Summit Branch via email -  NatureSummit@dcceew.gov.au.

If you decide to provide your personal information through the Global Nature Positive Summit Engagement Hub page, you are taken to have consented to your personal information being collected and used in accordance with this notice.
